About Anna

For WEB-DSC_2878-Edit-160502Anna Huysse graduated cum laude the Medical University, Varna, Bulgaria. She specialized in psychotherapy and worked actively for the establishment of the Positive Psychotherapy Association in Bulgaria. Anna holds an European Certificate for Psychotherapy.
In 1999, Anna received a fellowship to study Public Health at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. After successfully finishing this program, she was invited to work as a researcher at Maastricht University, where later she did her PhD and still is lecturing.
She has been a member of the Board of the directors on different national and international organizations (e.g. the World Organization of Positive Psychotherapy, Wiesbaden, Germany and at the NGVH, a professional organization for psychotherapy, the Netherlands).

On the basis of her scientific work, Anna has developed a training in supporting organizations to become more passionate.  The course is available online ‘Unlock yourself’.
Anna has her own Psychological practice in the Maastricht area where she works extensively with people with autoimmune diseases, in particular Hashimoto.  As a Hashimoto patient herself and based on this experience and working with people with autoimmune diseases in the last 15 years, she is committed to pass over everything  she has learned and support others. Furthermore, she hopes to be able to contribute to the scientific knowledge in this area. This is shortly the story behind the Hashimoto help initiative.
